A La Ronde has a new writer in residence as part of Writing Places.
Novelist and short story writer Jane Feaver will take up her position at the beginning of July 2016 and will be working at the property until the end of September. Jane’s novel, According to Ruth (Harvill Secker, 2007), was shortlisted for the Author’s Club Best First Novel Award and the Dimplex Prize; Love Me Tender (Harvill Secker, 2009) was shortlisted for the Edge Hill Short Story Prize; her latest novel is An Inventory of Heaven (Corsair, 2012). Jane is also a lecturer in creative writing at Exeter University.
During her three-month tenure at the property, Jane will be running a variety of activities including two creative writing workshops that will be free for members of the public and she will also be launching a postcard competition.
Alongside Jane’s activities there will also be a series of literary themed events taking place at the end of July in a marquee on site that will include storytelling for all ages, book craft workshops and book conservation demonstrations. Activities kick off with a talk by renowned architectural writer and presenter Lucinda Lambton on July 23rd.
