Providing inspiration for the murder mysteries that Christie and crime-thriller fans love even to this day, Murder on the Orient Express the 1934 Hercule Poirot novel is an excellent who-dunnit. Centred around a grisly murder on the orient express, the group of 13 passengers on the train – all of whom are from varying backgrounds and social standings become the suspects in a plot which Poirot races to uncover. As the train hurtles onward through the night, just what will be discovered when everyone is a suspect…and who will survive the night?
The novel has been previously adapted most notably as a feature length episode of the series Poirot starring David Suchet in 2010 and as various television and film adaptations and this year, in a star-studded adaptation Kenneth Brannagh directs and stars (as Poirot) in a new version of the classic who-dunnit. Starring Hollywood heavy-weights including Dame Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Penelope Cruz, Daisy Ridley and Olivia Coleman to name a few, we’re looking forward to getting our ticket for this train!
