Writing Places are able to offer the following free workshop at Coleridge Cottage in August:
August 27th 2015
2 – 4pm
Narrative and Setting Writing Masterclass with author Tom Vowler
‘The Essence Of Place In Fiction: Mining Narrative From The Natural World’?
From the rugged uplands of Dartmoor to the windswept Falkland Islands, Tom Vowler’s novels and stories always evoke a strong sense of place. In this masterclass he explores the inextricable bind between narrative and setting, showing how each informs and amplifies the other, how characters and setting are mutually dependent, and how a book’s location can be a character in itself.
A treat for those seeking inspiration from the landscape around them.
All workshops will take place in the Garden Room at Coleridge Cottage and can be booked at the cottage or by telephoning 01278 732662. There is a maximum number of 12 participants per workshop.
